Has anyone really heard the sound of water wailing?To get close to the watershed, you might as well start by walking into the surrounding watersheds and participating in the ecological changes of the surrounding watersheds. This data aids in evaluating pollution levels, with biodiversity serving as an environmental indicator for ecosystem health. The collected data assists in implementing conservation measures. Public participation raises awareness of pollution threats and biodiversity, inspiring environmental action. Ultimately, citizen science plays a pivotal role in protecting rivers and ecosystems.

公民科學調查與河川污染以及生物多樣性之間存在緊密關係。公民關心健康和環境問題,通過監測水質、生物多樣性以及產生數據來洞察環境健康狀況。公民科學調查有助於評估污染程度,生物多樣性可以作為環境指標,了解生態系統的健康。所獲取的數據可提供給需要的人來協助採取環保措施。此外,公眾的參與可提高對污染威脅和生物多樣性的認識,激發環保行動。最終期盼公民科學調查在保護河川和生態系統方面發揮關鍵作用。

水鳥觀察: 觀察並記錄水鳥種類及數量。水鳥通常是水體生態系統中的指標物種,它們的存在和行為可以反映水體質量。

Waterbird Observation: Observe and record the types and quantities of waterbirds. Waterbirds are often indicative species in aquatic ecosystems, and their presence and behavior can reflect the water quality.

魚類觀察: 觀察並記錄所看到的魚類。可以透過窺箱清楚的看到河川裡的魚蝦,有些魚類因生存能力較強可以棲息在較髒的水質環境,所以我們也可以透過魚類來觀察水質的乾淨程度。

Fish Observation: Observe and document the fish species encountered. Using an observation box allows a clear view of the fish and shrimp in rivers. Some fish, due to their robust survival capabilities, can thrive in less pristine water conditions. Thus, fish observation provides insights into water cleanliness.

以公民科學教育河川為主軸議題做為創作目的,結合科學知識的協作合作,透過實驗科學監測來實現水域保育計畫,設計將水域及土壤監測、認識生物環境指標分類,透過水域保育計畫,促進水域生物多樣性,呼籲人們共同參與。

The creative objective centers around citizen science education with a focus on river ecosystems, integrating collaborative efforts in scientific knowledge. Through hands-on scientific monitoring, the aim is to implement a water conservation project. The design incorporates monitoring of water bodies and soil, as well as understanding the classification of biological environmental indicators. By fostering water conservation initiatives, the project aims to enhance biodiversity in aquatic ecosystems, calling on individuals to actively participate.

我們製作河川水質檢測、河川土壤檢測、生物環境指標、河川檢測調查組等教育系列,並以影音互動的形式 AR 動態的概念與公民一同攜手守護家園。

We have developed an educational series encompassing river water quality testing, river soil examination, biological environmental indicators, and river monitoring investigation. Utilizing the concept of augmented reality (AR) in interactive audiovisual formats, we encourage citizens to join hands in safeguarding our environment.

三本書籍以河川的公民科學調查為主題,涵蓋水質、土壤和生物環境指標。這些書籍深入介紹了調查的方法和歷年的數據,展開來為一幅連貫的故事,翻閱到最後可以看到書籍內容所有數據的統整,我們期望透過這些書籍能激發公民的環保意識,讓大眾不僅能瞭解環境問題,還能積極參與生態檢測和保護。

The three books focus on citizen science investigations of rivers, covering water quality, soil, and biological environmental indicators. These books provide in-depth insights into the investigation methods and historical data, unfolding as a coherent narrative. Reading through, one can see the integration of all the data presented in the books. We aim to inspire environmental awareness among citizens, fostering not only understanding of environmental issues but also active participation in ecological monitoring and conservation.

Detection kit Design​

檢測調查組為公民科學家和環保愛 好者提供了更方便的實地檢測體驗。分為水質、土壤兩種檢測組,水質試紙特別採用便條紙的形式,方便攜帶撕取。 土壤試紙,以膠卷形式製成,獨特的設計允許使用者替換內芯,確保公民能夠持續使用。內容物還包括可以自行摺疊的紙本容器,容器和包裝採用防水紙材,確保在戶外使用的可靠性。外觀設計則採用扁平式,可以輕鬆地攜帶。

The detection investigation kit provides citizen scientists and environmental enthusiasts with a more convenient field testing experience. It is divided into two kits for water quality and soil testing. The water quality test paper is specifically designed in the form of a strip, making it easy to carry and tear. The soil test paper is crafted in the shape of a roll, featuring a unique design that allows users to replace the core, ensuring continuous use. The contents also include a foldable paper container, with both the container and packaging made of waterproof paper material to ensure reliability during outdoor use. The flat design allows for easy portability.

最後透過與政府組織的數據連結建立網絡平台,能與公民共享監測結果實現目標,建立更廣泛的環保聯繫,使河川生態保護更加全面而可持續,同時保護家園水域多樣性賦予的清澈資源。

Finally, through linking data with government organizations, we establish a network platform that enables the sharing of monitoring results with citizens, achieving our goals. This fosters a broader environmental connection, making river ecosystem conservation more comprehensive and sustainable. Simultaneously, it safeguards the clear resources endowed by the diversity of the home river, ensuring a sustainable future.

體驗組設計

Experiential Kit Design

採用木質雷雕的旋轉卡牌,選用 16 隻河川常見生物作為教學教材,同時可以透過 AR 掃描卡牌查看生物的相關數據, 將平面的資訊圖表轉為立體化。下半部為河川的部分、中間為土地、上層為樹木整 體會是一個生態圈。以趣味教育的方式告 知大眾河川再持續污染下去我們生態圈的生物將會所剩無幾。

Utilizing wooden laser-engraved rotating cards, we have selected 16 common river organisms as instructional materials. Through AR scanning of the cards, users can access relevant data about the organisms, transforming flat informational charts into three-dimensional representations. The lower section represents the river, the middle section signifies the land, and the upper layer depicts trees, creating an ecological circle. Through engaging education, we aim to inform the public that continued pollution of rivers will leave our ecological circle with only a few remaining organisms.

Conclusion

本研究計畫透過實地參與公民科學 調查與生態監測調查之過程,協助科學研究的進行,透過視覺傳達設計,以淺顯易懂的方式呈現給大眾。透過參與公民科學調查,我們不僅成功促進了生態監測的進程,更有效地將研究成果傳達給社會。

This research project facilitates scientific research through active participation in citizen science investigations and ecological monitoring surveys. Utilizing visual communication design, the findings are presented to the public in a clear and understandable manner. Through engaging in citizen science investigations, we have not only successfully promoted the progress of ecological monitoring but also effectively communicated the research outcomes to society.
